On our last night in Hawaii we decided to try some Sushi. We don’t usually eat Sushi but when we do try it, we like what we try. We went to Sansei Sushi Bar and told the waiter to just bring us what he thought was good. And, with a “Right On” he was back in the kitchen bringing us a surprise and my glass of white wine.
He brought out our food in stages with the first being Shrimp Dynamite. It was fried shrimp with a creamy breading and a garlic aioli. It was a dish I would not be expected to find at a Sushi Bar but glad I did. Then the waiter brought us out the Panko Crusted Ahi Sashimi Sushi Roll and it was just delicious. It was not cold because it was flash fried on just the outside and it was perfect for dipping in its soy wasabi butter sauce. Then we asked the waiter to bring us something that is the total opposite of what we just loved and he brought us the Mango Crab Salad Roll. This was more like a wrap and it was cold, which threw me off a little bit. It was tasty and sweet, and he was correct, it was the complete opposite of what we had eaten prior. Then we had a bowl of Udon Noodles, but they were the least fun of the whole meal. I have learned to not order the boring stuff when there is so much more interesting food to enjoy. We also ordered the Lobster and Blue Crab Ravioli and it was also delicious. The Ravioli came covered in a tan mushroom and madeira wine cream sauce and were very delicate, buttery and melt in your mouth delectable. I just knew if we stayed there any longer that we would have exploded trying one tasty dish after another. I am sure we would not have found a bad a item in the bunch. It was by far the best sushi I have ever had and will ever have. I strongly, strongly recommend Sansei’s.
